I rarely answer them, but I always read the writer's block questions.

Now, today's is actually thought provoking. How do I feel about corporeal punishment? After much consideration, I do suppose I'm going to have to side with the Winchesters. Ghosts deserve all the punishment coming to them. Yes, I imagine there are exceptions, but those would be dealt with on a case by case basis.

In other news, I am working on an AU that probably has absolutely nothing to do with [livejournal.com profile] polybigbang, but does have very much to do with super-people. Superheroes and supervillains, I mean. So in the spirit of this, today will involve a superperson triple feature.

X-Men, then Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog and I'll finish with Defendor, which I just picked up yesterday because Woody Harrelson is one of my all time favourites.

Because I fully intend to keep writing until I am finished, I also might watch a few episodes of Battlestar Galatica, because Cavil really reminds me of a supervillain, and then possibly some episodes of Buffy, because I am really stretching my definition of 'superperson' to fit my paltry dvd collection.

If anyone has any superhero/supervillain/super-morally-ambiguous-person advice, now would be a great time to share it :D

Went to Bean's and watched Newsies and Center Stage. Newsies rocked (as per usual), Center Stage was ridiculously, hilariously bad. I will pretend it was bad on purpose.

Bean's cat makes me miss having a normal cat. My cat is so wicked and bloodthirsty, it's like living with a storybook Viking instead of a fluffy feline.

We're still working on our AU big bang. I would like to say I am awesome and making things fly along at an alarmingly brisk pace, but in truth I have written one sentence, I think, that is still hanging on and hasn't been edited out yet. Fingers crossed, it'll make it to the final draft.

I look back at where I'm from, look at the woman I've become... And the strangest things seem suddenly routine.

It's a quote from Hedwig and the Angry Inch and it always come back to me in the oddest times, echoing off all that empty space inside my head. Weird. Do you think it means something?

In other news, if I had a mutant X-Men power, I'd be exactly like Mystique. Hands down.
unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (BRAVO)
Permission to shout 'bravo!' at an annoyingly loud volume, sir?

Jesus died today* for our sins, and I think that's pretty rad (the sacrifice part, not the actual dying). In a couple days, he'll pop back though, so don't worry. Easter's pretty much the most zombie related holiday I can think of.

Spent the afternoon at Jamie's, watching movies. We watched a depressing movie that got us both miserable and bitter at the male gender (surprise, surprise) and then Jamie forced me to watch one of his favourites. He said it would cheer us up.

Okay, he didn't really have to twist my arm, it had Alan Rickman in it (I don't care if I'm the only person alive who still finds him sexy; that just means there's more for me).

But yeah, Love Actually. I highly recommend it. Some lovely eye candy and very well written, I thought. Just a wonderful film and Jamie was right, it did cheer me up.

Speaking of stressed out beyond all belief, I'm migrating south to visit my family for a week. Wish me luck.

I am updating from not my regular computer. It feels weird typing on a keyboard that is not my home or work one. Especially because I haven't used a laptop in a long time. Ahh, crazy finger sensation!

I think something miraculous will happen soon. It's one of those bright, bright sunshiny days. Only it's currently night time. ^__^

We're going to be watching Dark Knight in a few moments. I am worried that it will be terrifying and I will cry a little and have nightmares. Someone will have to hold me. Volunteers?

The extra special super features will be added when I am back at HQ. Movie is starting and I smell some popcorn!!

And the saddest thing is that this post contains spoilers for the season finale of So You Think You Can Dance.

Lazy day. We had potatoes with cheese and then napped for a few hours. How is that not the best Sunday ever?

Then we went to Jamie's for Audrey Hepburn movies. We watched My Fair Lady and I sang I don't even care that Katie hates me for it. Then Jamie made us break for the finale of So You Think You Can Dance Canada... Which I sat through mostly quietly because I am a good person. Mohawk guy won. Apparently this is not who we wanted to win. I was distressed. I think.

Jamie is made of good things and has amazing hair, which is the anti-thesis to my hair. I think it's cool that my hair has a tangible opposite. How many can say that? Not many, I bet, mhmm. Also he agreed with me on 'important things' and I felt a little vindicated because Katie and Sarah thought I was a freak. Twenty points for Jamie.

Now I shall make some dinner, consume it quietly and pass the hell out for the night, because for all the laziness and lounging, I am exhausted. It's my body's way of gearing up for work this week. Screw you amazing, sexy body, screw you.

I can't stop listening to Dr. Horrible!

"This so nice, I just might sleep with the same girl twice! They say it's better the second time, they say you get to do the weird stuff!"

"...We do the weird stuff!"

Nathan Fillion gives me butterflies... IN MY PANTS

Happy!

Sorelle is chilling on my window sill- the wreckage of my blinds in shreds around her, Sarah is out with some middle aged stranger she met online and she'll probably die, Lace is gone to Hearst for a week (a week!), and I couldn't be happier!

...Not because of all that though.

Because I am fantastically happy about Act One of Dr. Horrible. SO GOOD. Want more!

Was sick on Monday so I didn't go to work. Also, I royally effed my shoulder on Sunday night and it still aches like a sonofabitch. Went to the doctor, but she didn't help at all. Suggested I take some acetaminophen. Even after I told her I was allergic. Yay non English speaking people!

Okay, that sounded racist or whatever, but I'm not. I work with non-English speakers (no really! American is nothing like English for most people) every day and I'm getting really good at communicating... But really? Four words of English and the rest in German is not good enough to be a medical professional in this area. Even if she was French, I could have dealt. I live in a pretty French place and I like to think I know enough French to get my point across usually. But no one informed me my local walk-in clinic was in Germantown. Unimpressed.

Speaking of work, I missed pre-shift last night because of some RIDICULOUS call. I was almost in tears because the lady was so damn ignorant. I went forty kinds of above and beyond for her and she wouldn't listen to a fucking word of it. She called me an unhelpful, snotty bitch and told me I ruined her night and I PERSONALLY made it impossible to buy a cell phone for her dying father. I gave her 4 different options, offered her something I'm not even technically supposed to have access to and call two different departments for her so she wouldn't get transferred around.

Plus, if he's dying, why the hell does he need a cell phone?

I have this weird dimply thing in my ankle. I've just been staring at it and poking for like, half an hour. Mmm, deformed.

I finished season one of Queer as Folk last night with Lacey. Seriously whoa-inducing. And then I hung out with Lacey on Monday night too. We had Wendy's. Oh! And then Lacey is coming over tonight for pizza and Dead Poets Society...

Too much Lacey? Never!

I finished some pen pal letters today. Just have to find a mail box.

Also I think I pulled a muscle in my sternum. It hurrrrrrts. It hurts to breathe.
unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (Default)
The movie isn't even over yet, but I paused it to update.

I've never really watched a Gerad Butler movie... I think I've probably seen afew but I've never watched one. Wow. He's not an awful actor and he sure isn't unattractive.

Also Kathy Bates and James Marsters. So I'm enjoying the movie, right?

BUT THEN.

I have a deep affection for the irish brogue. Very much so. So what to wondering eyes do appear?! Jeffrey Dean Morgan (aka: John "Papa" Winchester) in extra tight jeans WITH an irish accent. Playing the guitar and singing. And tattooed.

Rawr.

So, even though the movie is a little Nicholas Sparks-esque, that scene (plus Butler stripping in the beginning) is enough to garner a gold star in my books. Because theatrical merit is based on how lubed up a movie gets me...

EDIT: HOLY SHIT HE'S NAKED.
unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (Default)
So. We meet again, pain killers and muscle relaxants. Enemies or friends, are we?

Long story short, I fell out of a tree and life won't let me forget it. My shoulder has been really funky the last few days, what with the not staying fully in the socket and the crippling pain and whatnot. My doc phoned in the prescription for muscle relaxants because we're both officially afraid of the school doctor up here. She likes to give out killer drugs to people. Including those with little to no sypmtoms. 'Sad? Well, that might have something to do with your complete lack of friends, dead parents and your horrible alcohol dependancy, but just to be safe, have a bunch of effexor.' Because prescribing killer anti-depressants to orphans is the only way to earn that teardrop tattoo.

What was I talking about? *Gurgle* Mmm. Ow.

I decided to update about my life while I can type without the hurting.

Mama's making me sort through my clothes to see what I'm going to take and what I'm going to leave instead of letting me go to Colin's to chill with teh friends. Dammit.

I got talking about Swing Kids today with [livejournal.com profile] rainbowdarling and that, coupled with watching CoS [awful movie!] with Kenneth Branaugh in it made me watch that last scene in SK again before work.

I can happily say that this time I didn't cry, but only because I watched a mere four minutes of it. It's too damn upsetting. I stopped it before Thomas's grand realization. ugh, way to heart wrenching for two in the afternoon.

And I direct you to my icon meme.

Pirates!

unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (Default)
So I saw the Pirates movie. Gotta say, I like freaky-ass monsters and pirates.

Our power is being fucky again and there's a fire truck outside my house :(

I haven't eaten in what feels like a billion hours. And I have to work tomorrow.

My life is a neverending hell.

[With Pirates!]

In other news, Colin is away for the weekend. I forget why. Something to do with an insanely long bus ride and Justin. This, of course, means I needed to find someone else to hang out with. Baaaad mistake Colleen. [I totally spelt my name right the first time]

I kid. Tonight, despite my whining, was a fun night. And Jessica makes things seem worse than they are.
unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (Default)
I'll never understand why she comes in my room, yells at me and waves her hands, then throws something and storms off and slams the door when I didn't do anything wrong.

In other words, I'll never understand why I don't lock that door.

Seriously. When was the "last time it was 'ooh, Colleen has a project and we all have to help her right now!' panic panic"? I don't think that that has ever even happened... Maybe in grade school. Maybe.

I became very sick today at work. This is very odd. I am confused by it. Perhaps it was only Jonathan making me sick. That is always possible.

I hope I am feeling well tomorrow. I think it just might be a combination of over-tired and stress. And extreme lack of earrings. Damn. That's going to bug me so much. They were nice earrings!

[Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone...]

I got a kiss before I went into World Issues today, where we watched the beginning of Hotel Rwanda. I can't decide if that movie is more or less disturbing than Shake Hands With the Devil. Possibly on par?

[Tomorrow, you'll all be able to comment in my journal again. I know it's been killing you.]
unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (Default)
I'munna be so dead tomorrow.

^^

I'm going to be the biggest bitch to John and Wendy.

I'm going to be so fucking miserable at the world.

But I am working all day and most of the evening!

So there you go, right?

I've paid my dues, time after time. I've done my sentence, but commited no crime...

!!!!

OH WAIT, THAT'S THE REST OF YOU.

Bwa ha ha ha. [[And if you don't know what I'm talking about, you're better off not knowing. Seriously.]]

I have a new hobby. It is certainly not collecting stamps.

But yes. This will either decrease the already scant slashy updates. Or will possibly set fodder for new and more frequent ones.

Hopefully the second...

*ahem*

In other, totally unrrelated news: I can't figure out if I love having my neck bitten, or I hate it... But they tell me that it's a fine, fine line. [*resists urge to break into song*]

..........

*breaks into song anyways!*

..........

Only I suppose that song is not really appropriate, is it?

I'm sure I can think of a few from Rocky Horror that would fit better...

I don't know why everything has to be on seperate lines. Asthetics?

*ahem*

Going to bed as soon as I shut that movie off.

Niiiiiiiiiiight!!
unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (Default)
Attention all of you on yellow buses!

I am never, ever speaking to any of you again.

Ever.

You cause me great pain, anguish, heartache and Keanu Reeves movies.

Shame upon all of you and your families.

But this in no way means you should stop doing nice things for me. In fact, you should do more nice things in hopes that one day I will forgive you enough to hate you less.

That is all.
unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (Default)
I watched three movies today, and stayed in bed trying to nurse my poor battered self back to life. I pity the fools who have to work with me tomorrow, for I will be one miserable SOB.

I'm also really not sure how I will be able to survive drama next semester. Just keep me away from Katie, I guess.

My hands are freakin' cold.

Last Gee You Knit of semester one today. Was saddening.

*is sad*

I was going to have a movie day on Saturday, but I am working.

*is sad*

But now I have to go make a cd for Mrs. Giasson because she asked me nicely/with a post-it note so as not to interrupt Nick's seminar.
