A few months ago

erture posted about which five female fictional characters she would want on her "crap, now we have to save the world/universe/sandwich" team. When I read it, I thought she probably had picked the characters I also would have picked, but I guess I should probably think of my own, so here goes.

sigrundora, but it turned out to depressing as hell when I started writing, and I'm attempting to begin 2012 as positively as possible, so none of that, only geekery and badass chicks!

1) Make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment.

1 • Create a graphic (200 x 200 max size) to represent your personal "candy". It should have your username on it, but otherwise can feature whatever you want. Make it something special since it's self-representative.

Abby is the least helpful shadow I've ever had, especially when it comes to walking up or down the stairs or trying to catch frogs.

It's been raining off and on here for the last few nights. I go out around eleven-midnight and walk around the suburbs, finding frogs that have come out in the rain and relocating them away from the rich people's swimming pools and towards the swampy bits of land that are mostly chlorine-free. So. I guess I have a new hobby? That's only a little weird, right?

Last night I had Abby with me and her sole aim in life was to eat as many frogs as I picked up. She didn't actually ingest any; all frogs safely accounted for and stolen away from the swimming pools. Let's chalk this one up as a win.

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so... she likes office supplies." I'd love it if every single person who added me would do this.

Post a link to whatever fanworks you're most proud of! I don't care what your medium is: podfic, art, graphics, meta, fic, poetry, mixes; if you're particularly proud of it, I want to see it in the comments. Throw in a link to something you've always wished had gotten more attention and I'll wander over to have a visit. If you think I've already seen it but it really is your favourite, post it anyway. Every single person reading this right now has hurt someone. Probably recently and probably someone you care about. Through words you spoke or words you thought or something you wrote down, through your action or maybe your inaction, or maybe just by not taking the time to say 'hey, I'm glad I've got you.' Maybe you were having a bad day, or maybe someone just said something that caused you to snap at them, or maybe you weren't even thinking about it. But I can pretty much guarantee someone got hurt in the process. I bet if you think, you can think of the person who hurt you.

Having said that, I encourage you all to think about those who you might have hurt or angered or made to feel less than they ought, and I urge you to apologize. Alternately, go find that person who made you feel crappy recently and tell them it's okay and you forgive them. Just a big, sincere, heartfelt, cozy blanket of apology.

In other news, I honestly don't think I've slept as well as I have in the last few days in a very long time. I blame/credit the puppy for this, as her 4+ walks a day are exhausting me. It would be perfect if my arms weren't killing me from the combination sunburn/dog trying to pull them off. And on that note, it's time to take Abby out again!

I got no thank you card for the fruit bouquet I sent on your birthday and that just seems spiteful. Unless you comply with my request for common courtesy, I will have no choice but to capture and systematically devour all the white wagtails in the world and then you'll have no national bird at all and won't you look silly? This is normally where one would say 'this will hurt me more than it will hurt you', but really, it won't hurt me at all.

In other news, neither of my fave teams won in the pairs skate last night. China took silver and gold (bronze went to Germany). I personally liked the silver medalists over the gold in the short program and the free skate, but I'm not an Olympic figure skating judge now am I?

Also got to watch Canada get it's first gold medal on home soil. Bilodeau just look so overwhelmed, like he needed a hug. Maybe I just have an irrational urge to hug everyone, yes?

Today's agenda includes finishing my

help_haiti fic (eep!) and read through my

samdeanexchange entry to make sure it's not utter garbage. Reminder to self: don't sign up to write fic for people if you suck at writing in general. >.<

Mother and Stepfather leave for the their trip either Thursday night or Friday morning to catch their flight from Buffalo. So starting then, I will have virtually no human contact until the 9th of March. Woo? I don't even know. I already have a feeling that these dogs are going to drive me crazy.

Also, I wanna go to Disneyland. Like, really bad.
