[livejournal.com profile] cherie_morte might hurt me, but here I am, posting during a word battle.

1) Make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment.

2) Ask your flist to post questions in the comments. For example: 'One, nine and fifteen are chosen by a prophecy to save the world from four. Do they succeed?', 'Under what circumstances might five and fourteen fall in love?', 'Which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?'

3) After your flist has asked enough questions, round them up and answer them using the fifteen characters you selected beforehand, then post them.

Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] kaeilaspn.

Ask me my Top Five Whatevers. Fannish or literary or otherwise. Any top fives. Doesn't matter what, really! Fandoms, ice cream flavours, books I might get around to writing one day, cartoon moments, women in my fandoms, OTPs, ideal holiday destinations, goals for the future, celebrity crushes, books I wish would be made into movies, love songs. And I will answer them all in a new post (or in comments). Possibly with pictures.

Some of those were hard choices. I know I'm boring and the same icons appear in a few categories. So sue me.

I'll update later with today's photos (probably) and then I won't be around again for reals until Monday. Now I'm guessing I'll have to go back about 100-125 entries to catch up on what y'all do this weekend. It's going to be interesting, I'm sure. :)

Got my last rabies needle today, feeling sickly and weak. *whine* But at least we know I'll be rabies free. That's pretty reassuring.

Below the cut you will find a short list, an update on all the current major writing projects I have going, something mean about [livejournal.com profile] cherie_morte and something even meaner about my cat.

Top Seven Fears

Everyone on the internet wants you to do drugs. )

FYI, this got entry weird. Warnings for zombies and other distasteful things (like Wil Wheaton and so much crossover fanfiction that my wrist started to hurt just thinking about maybe writing it all one day). Whew. I could kill me with my brain too.

Smoked today out of the water with 1722/1500. Hah! And I only claimed I was going to be a milk vampire once. Brendan, the sweet little dumpling he is, has promised me 1 kidnapping of my choice if I successfully complete my 1500 words a day. That's a pretty sweet deal, guys.

Also managed to get around to posting a bunch of stuff to my writing journal. Going to link it here in case anyone is interested. Most of it's too short to actually be considered fic, but you get the idea.

Supernatural and Leverage fic beyond the jump )

It's 4 am and I don't know why I'm awake and [livejournal.com profile] scorpiod01 is making up lies about me and some ducks AND I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS. So that's it for me tonight, intertube. I promise I'll behave better tomorrow.

Skipping today for the 30 Days of TV Meme because I don't have the energy to do day four's answer justice tonight. Instead, have another meme and a sad story.

Yet Another Music Meme

Rules:

- List the names of 20 of your favorite bands. (I can only think of 15. Sue me.)
- Have people try to guess your favorite song by each of them.
- Bold the ones that were guessed and add the title of the song.

01. Great Big Sea
02. Sloan - Everything You've Done Wrong
03. The Tragically Hip
04. Florence + The Machine - Drumming Song
05. Boys Night Out
06. The Hush Sound
07. Lady Gaga - Speechless
08. Tilly and the Wall
09. Barenaked Ladies
10. The Beatles
11. Kevin Devine
12. Motion City Soundtrack
13. Savage Garden
14. Sam Roberts
15. Taylor Swift - Our Song

That only looks like a weird list to me because I know I listen to a lot of country music, yet I'm not really showing that reflected. I also never realized I listen to so much Canadian content on a day to day basis, but I apparently do.

Also, if I were a MASH character, I'd apparently be 'Trapper' John.

Sad story has cut for icky. )

Katie was on a course in South River today, so I was home alone.

Me.

Alone.

All day.

Before pictures of my books. )

After pictures of my books. )

And that's what I did today. This is only about 2/3 of my collection; the rest still live at my mother's house. Along with my two tallllllllllll Billy-style Ikea book cases which I frickin absolutely wish I had here, but would have no place to put them. But in the time between right now and when I one day live in a place big enough to have a room specifically for my books, I have milk crates, right? I've also appropriated a shoe box (which I will now decorate and show pictures to you later!) to house my zine library. It will sit precariously atop my flash milk crate shelves. There's a possibility it will have a dinosaur on it.

Right this second, I am eating a salad. Life is good.

Yanked from [livejournal.com profile] scorpiod01 because come on, when was the last time I did a meme like this?

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing. Skip the instrumental-only pieces (non-English too if you want).
Step 3: Strike through the songs when someone guesses both artist and title correctly. (If it's a cover, the original artist is okay, and vice-versa.)
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!
Step 5: If you like this game, post your own!

So originally I typed out a long entry about all the ways in which I dig amphibians, but then it somehow got lost and so I bring you boring-ass housekeeping things instead. Included obligatory ostriches for y'all.

[Poll #1566983]

Because when I get sad/angry/very very bored or when Katie leaves me home alone for too many days in a row/I get strep again/Mercury goes into retrograde, I revamp my LJ. It's usually the layout that gets it, but I am so bad at that stuff that I just figured friends filters for this week. Also, I added a slew of people (hi slew!) in the last little bit and I thought you all ought to know what you're getting into. <3

If I am very crazy all at once, we call it a complete breakdown or that time Cas and Bobby had a baby and they didn’t name it Trgiaob.

If I am crazy at a consistent rate for three years, we call it my Twitter feed.

Given the rate at which I tweet, I’ll probably hit 3,000 tweets today or tomorrow morning. In an attempt to determine when I started tweeting at all, I scrolled through 2,991 tweets last night. For the most part I can say 'cool!' because it made me remember things that I may have otherwise forgotten about. But there was also quite a few moments of 'WTF was I talking about?' And so I bring you that now. The best of the WTF moments of the last 3000 tweets. A lot of them are about trees. I couldn't tell you why.
Original spelling mistakes and crappy grammar preserved.

This is where it all starts to get weird. )
unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (wtf -> this is alarming txt)
Dear Cattle,

You have four stomachs. What's up with that? I mean, if there are four of you in a room, I would expect you to have four stomachs, but you have four stomachs with only one of you in a room (four cattle in a room would be somewhere in the neighbourhood of sixteen stomachs). This is, of cours,e ignoring the fact that y'all probably shouldn't be in a room at all. Cattle belong in a paddock or a barn.

I get why you would have two stomachs. You need one for softening the food and making it into cud, and then another for fully digesting. But the next two seem like overkill. I'm just saying, maybe you'd like to share some of those stomachs around to some of the creatures who only have one stomach. Make it a little fairer when we're talking about digestion.

Cattle! You only have one heart, dudes, don't you worry that your one heart gets kind of put out that your stomachs can have a party and the coolest thing your heart can do is ride a unicycle... It all just smacks of unfairness to me.

As long as we're talking about things you have to much of, I think you need to cut down on the number of words that are used to talk about you. There's 'cattle', which is the general word for you. 'Bull' means an intact male. 'Micky' can mean a wild male cow. 'Maverick' means the animal is unbranded. 'Cow', of course, means a female who's given birth. Before a female gives birth, they're called a 'heifer'. The list goes on, cattle. It's more than a little excessive.

You're cool, cattle, and I'm down with you. I just think you've been coasting for too long. Shape up, guys.

Very Sincerely,
Colleen

I had two thoughts while walking to the bus today.

1. With all the sinning that I do, it's nice for me to be able to think that Jesus died to save me from them.

2. Hey, look that graffiti says 'dick lips.' If your dick has lips, please see your doctor.

Then, after I had those two thoughts, I had this thought.

3. Those are two really weird thoughts to have back to back.

So um, that's my life today. I have packed up all my stuff and am staying at Bean's until we're done the Big Bang rough copy. I brought a can of soup and my pillow. It promises to be ... intense.

This is my theory about the rest of this season of Supernatural. Possible spoilers, but it's just my theory. )
unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (grr -> your ego broke it)
I went on a friending spree last night... I wonder what brought that on?

Anyways, hello everyone (except [livejournal.com profile] epiphanyx7. You can f.o.) and if you're dying to know more about me than is available in my profile, check out my TOTALLY AWESOME INTRO POST from the other day.

In other news!

1. McLovin bit me hard enough to draw blood. From my eyelid.

2. I have redone my lj layout and I'm still not happy with it. I don't think I'll ever be happy with it.

3. Getting my gecko has been postponed until further notice because the person I am getting her from is in Costa Rica (or somewhere) until further notice.

4. I have decided who my superhero alter ego would be (details and pictures later?).

5. I had a lightning storm in my mind yesterday and I want to sign up for the next round of [livejournal.com profile] apocabigbang except I have no idea when/if that would be happening and um, way to miss the boat by a matter of months there. Also, wth, don't you remember the [livejournal.com profile] au_bigbang fiasco that you somehow fell into and that is still in progress? (The main problem is a simple lack of boobies. I hope to fix this in upcoming scenes. I'm hoping my partner doesn't notice)
unavoidedcrisis: girl lying on the ground with playing cards scattered over her (gen -> i am canadian)
So um, I love the Olympics. Totally unabashedly love them. And I feel the same way about my country.

And I am so frickin proud to say I was watching when Canada won it's first gold on home soil ever. Oh yeah. I think what also makes it pretty dang cool is that it wasn't one of the huge names on our Olympic team either, it was kind of a random. Bilodeau had an amazing run (also holy crap moguls look like the most painful thing ever) and he just looked so damn excited! It was infectious :)

Also caught the men's 5000m speed skating on Saturday night - a whole bunch of cuties taking home medals. Is it wrong that the main secondary reason I watch the Games is to compile a list of places I want to visit based on how good looking their athletes are? I mean, athletes don't need to be good looking to excel - unlike other celebrities that do, right? I don't know, I always thought of athletes as more like regular people than actors/actresses. Whatever, I'm still shallow, but I'm alright with that.

Watched a lot of the pairs skate short program last night too. Kavaguti and Smirnov (Russians) are my favourites, I think (over Dube and Davidson even, *gasp*) so I hope they do well. They were just so captivating.

Um, so that's me rambling about the Olympics.
