Sirius knocked on the door, flowers in hand. In the last fleeting seconds before the door was opened, he wondered if his hair looked okay. He smoothed out his bangs to be sure.
“Sirius!” Remus beamed. “Oh isn’t that lovely. I invited you over for Easter dinner and you’re wearing… leather.”
Sirius kissed him on the cheek and pushed the flowers into his hands. “Always, baby. I know how it drives you mad. Besides, it’s much nicer than those dopey cardigans you insist on wearing everywhere.”
Remus sighed. This was a familiar argument. “I like cardigans; they’re comfy.”
“And so is my cock in your mouth, but we don’t do that every time we go out for tea, do we? Oh…” Sirius noticed that Remus was blushing a furious red and he blinked a few times before he realized that the people sitting with James and Lily in the adjoining sitting room were Remus’s parents.
Remus took a deep breath and glared at Sirius. This was not the way he his parents to find out about him and Sirius. He turned around, ready with a thousand and one different things to say, but his mother cut him off.
“Come off it, Remus dear. Everyone knows.”
He stared at her, completely incomprehensive. “You mean…”
Sirius patted his arm. “You must give off a vibe, mate. It might be the cardigans, you know.”
Remus continued to stare at the room full of friends and family smiling at him. “And it’s… all right with everyone?”
“Of course it is,” his father said, standing up and walking towards him. “You’re our son, after all. I do admit, it was… strange for the first little while, but I’m over the initial shock.” He clapped his hand on Remus’s shoulder for a second before he pulled Remus into a full hug.
Remus nodded as his father pulled away. “Well good then. Dinner is served. And Sirius, for heaven’s sake, take off the jacket.”
Sirius pouted but tossed his leather jacket onto a chair before following everyone into the kitchen. He wouldn’t argue, so long as he didn’t have to wear a cardigan.
