The 31 Days 'o' Blog Fun Continues
Dec. 17th, 2008 08:39 pmAwesome Things of Today; A List in Three Parts.
Work:
-I am considered awesome and great enough to have a fledgling. Oh yes, my own y-corder. I was teaching about AHT and how to not make it suck. Me! It's pretty fantastic. I felt.. accomplished. Pathetic sounding, I know, but a little recognition goes a long way.
-I got my vacation! In five and a half hours, I am FREE. until Tuesday, when I become worth exactly 10.75$ an hour again.
-Might be enrolled in college for January! (not technically something through work but it will help me get a slightly more secure job. Which is bonus points)
Home/Family:
-My cousin painted me something for my birthday! I love filling my walls with colours and shinies and things to remind me of my people.
-Mama is picking me up at the bus station instead of making me walk/train/walk home from Bloor. Which is aweosme, beacuse it's a crappy walk in the day time, in the fall. I don't want to imagine the winter, nighttime equivalent. Also, we'll have a Katie!
-Homemade Chinese food for me to eat! My birthday is getting extended at least 3 days. Extra birthday foods and hugs for me. Me me me me.
-They promise me Stewie is less of a crazy thing now. Hopefully my fancy leather boots will come home to North Bay in the same condition in which they left.
-Did I mention I get to see my peoples? Lia and Katie and cousins and other cousins and maybe even Brendan/Sarah/Mickey! And Moe too, I guess...
Friends/Internet/Other:
-Upon inspiration from Courtney, my new middle name is 'Sinful'. I hope to have a smash up 2oo9. Fact.
-Hope. She springs eternal.
-I am feeling almost 150% better than I did yesterday and about 350% better than Sunday. ^__^
-Janis may be seeling me Harmon in January or February. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but you know how they spring (eternally).
-McLovin' is being amazing. I think he misses Katie and is saving his evil for her return. I am not going to argue, kitty! Bottle up that rage!
-2 words and my new favourite game: Frank Slinky.

Today! In History: 1892, St. Petersberg. The first production of the classic fairy tale The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky. It's in my top three Christmas/Holiday shows of all time. Fact!

Bizarre Fact of the Day: 'Twas only approximately 50 years ago that we realized (we being the silly, silly hoomans) that fuzzy bats, similar to the intelligent dolphins and the majestic bears, used echolocation to navigate. Before then, we just thought they were magic! How bizarre.
