One Wild Weekend

I finished initial classroom training and today will be my first day on the production floor. Holy moly. I'm more than a little nervous, but really, I think it's going to be okay. WHEW.
I went to see Lia and the family this past weekend. The ride down Friday night on the bus was basically uneventful, if not a little creepy. Some damn weirdos take the 0230 bus...
Got a little lost 'cause Lia gave me bad directions, but got to her place in one piece. We trounced around and had some fun, just like in the old days before she moved to London and got wordly. She showed me the coolest flower places. I love fresh cut flowers. (Hint hint.)
I also got a cell phone on Friday. It is mondo coolness. I am still getting used to carrying it, especially because I have it on vibrate and it has a tendancy to scare the bujeebus outta me when it goes off... But yes, cell phone = good stuff. We'll see how I feel about it in six months when the novelty wears off but the contract hasn't.
Sunday I went to my Mama's. We had food, I helped with chores. It was good the be home. Lotta family stress going on this past month or two. But all good things must come to an end. Around 1800, my ride back to North Bay showed up.
*cue ominous thunderclap*
Okay, I guess it wasn't that bad. Sorelle does not like being in the car. She cried the entire way. No actually, the entire way. But that's not fully horrible, I mena, I managed to tune her out by the time we hit Brechin.
Ever since my driving school, I've been actuely aware of good vs bad drivers. Or let's say distracted drivers and focused drivers. But I kept my mouth shut and we made it home with little to no problems. Just one small 130$ ticket... Rest in pieces, perfect driving record (not mine, Alex's). And he had a warning too. We told him police presence in the area was normal. Ho hum. No one got hurt and that's the important part.
The worst part of the ride, I think, was the company in the backseat. Rowdy, rude and particularly angry.
I'm just thankful for the downtime after the angry girls were dropped off and Sorelle and Lace made it home safe. The last part of the trip; Lacey's to mine, was the nicest. Quiet. Mostly quiet, I should say.
All in all, one wild weekend.
