Okay, well it was a dumb resolution anyways.

I officially quit Nanowrimo. I can't do it, man. I'm a hack. I don't know why I even bothered to start it. All I managed to do was scribble some pathetic words, and royally fuck my entire semester.

Now excuse me while I go salvage what is left of my academic career.

You actually quit Nanowrimo? After all that stress and buildup and freaking out and cramming and scheduling and...damn...no wonder you quit... I'm still dissapointed. Unless of course, you finish the story anyways, and I get to read it anyways.

Oh, hey now -- don't do that. I mean, trust me, I've been so immersed in reallife bullshit and post-election stress and crap that I've barely written 6000 words, but that's still 6000 words more than I wrote in October. Don't beat yourself up over this, that's not what it's about.

Look, you sat down and wrote, write? When otherwise you might not of? That's good. That's fantastic, amazing, phenomenal.

And, clearly, you bothered to start because you wanted this, you wanted to have a novel to your name. Forget whether or not you got to 50K, it's a fairly arbitrary goal.

My plan? Nano, for me and mine, extends into December. That's right, since we all fucked up -- I was bummed out, my girlfriend was freaking, my lil brother was editing -- we've decided to let our wordcounts stand until January 1. I mean, really, who's this about, after all, us, or Chris Baty?

So -- you want in? :)
